Jos – The Senator representing Plateau North in the National Assembly, Istifanus Gyang has frowned at the renewed killing in the Bassa local government area which is a part of his constituency.

Senator Gyang expressed sadness that despite the assurances by Operation Save Haven, OpSH keeping the peace in the State, killings, and destruction of crops persist.

According to a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Precious Nyako, “Fresh terror attacks on communities in Rigwe land, Bassa Local Government Area in which five persons were killed, has been condemned by Senator I. D. Gyang. The attack which targeted Nzhwerenvi and Kpara villages has again disrupted the relative peace in Plateau North Senatorial District.

“The Senator is disheartened that the attacks and destruction of farm crops on Rigwe land are persisting despite assurances by the OPSH Military Security outfit deployed to arrest and stop terror attacks on communities in Plateau and neighboring Kaduna state. Senator Gyang is urging the commander OPSH, Compol Plateau State Command, and other security Heads in the state to take advantage of President Buhari’s clear order to Service Chiefs on Tuesday 29/03/22 not to spare anyone illegally carrying AK/47 to deal decisively with the evil men terrorizing Rigwe land and peace-loving communities of Plateau North.”
