The Nasarawa State command of the Nigeria Police Force, have deployed 5,750 of its personnel across the state, to provide adequate security to Muslim faithful and all residents during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

This was contained in a press statement made available to newsmen in Lafia on Tuesday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel.

The statement reads, “In preparation for Eid-el- Kabir celebration, the Commissioner of Police, Maiyaki Baba, has ordered a strategic deployment of five thousand, seven hundred and fifty (5,750) Police operatives to cover all nooks and cranny of the state, which include Eid praying grounds, recreational centres and other public places.

“Vigorous crime prevention mechanisms have been emplaced on the highways to secure road users, while undercover operatives have also been deployed all over the state for surveillance and information gathering.

“The command hereby warn miscreants and disgruntled elements who might want to leverage on the occasion and perpetrate criminality to steer clear of the State or they shall be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.”
