The ongoing crisis rocking the Plateau state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has taken a new turn as some stakeholders of the Party at an expanded factional State Executive Committee, SEC meeting convened by the embattled Acting Chairman, Amos Gombi on Thursday suspended the Party Secretary, Emmanuel Tuang and his assistant, Felix Pienswan asked to take over in acting capacity.

The meeting, chaired by Gombi is the second of such meeting held within a week as the initial one convened on Monday at the instance of a notice by Tuang saw the emergence of Chris as the chairman of that faction.

The latest meeting had in attendance, the Party’s Governorship candidate in the 2019 election, Senator Jeremiah Useni, his running mate, Dr. James Dalok, former Deputy Senate President, Ibrahim Mantu, two former Speakers of the State Assembly, Emmanuel Go’ar and Titus Alams among others.

Useni while speaking at the meeting said “any organization without discipline is a failure,” explaining that the secretary was suspended indefinitely for insubordination.

He added, “we had successful and fruitful deliberations. One of the decisions taken by the State Executive Committee is the suspension of the secretary of the party. The meeting resolved that the principle of discipline must be entrenched in the party, nobody is above the party and whoever that feels contrary must be sanctioned in line with laid down rules.

“Members of the party should embrace the spirit of following due process in conducting their affairs, whoever that is aggrieved should channel their grievance through the appropriate channels. All party faithful should give the necessary support to the acting chairman in order to build the party. The committee should be given maximum cooperation to enable it complete its assignment within the time frame given it.”

However, a five-man committee has been set up to investigate the activities of the suspended secretary and all party members urged to ensure that whatever they do is geared towards the unity of the party.

The committee has Barrister Simon Jok as its chairman. Other members of the committee are; Hon. Aminu Jonathan, Mrs. Hanatu Bugama, Hon. Pius Gimba and Hon. Saidu Musa and has two weeks to submit its report.
