The Nasarawa State command of the Nigeria Police Force says it has arrested a suspected criminal who had been stealing from the residents of Karu Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel, made the disclosure while speaking with our correspondent in Lafia.

According to Nansel, the suspect who had been on the watchlist of the police, was tracked down and arrested in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, after painstaking efforts by officers of the command.

He said, ‘A complaint was recently lodged at Karshi Division that, an apartment located at Modupe Olusola street, Papaladna, Karshi Development Area of Karu LGA was burgled and house hold items including a 2010 model Toyota matrix vehicle were carted away by unknown persons.

“Upon receipt of the report, a discreet and diligent investigation was launched into the case. The effort of the Police operatives paid off when the principal suspect; Gabriel Okpe ‘M’ 32yrs was trailed and arrested at Jikwoyi FCT, Abuja.

“The following items were recovered as exhibit: Toyota matrix with registration number ABC 277 FV Abuja, Honda Accord with registration number LC 699 EKY Lagos, two plasma television sets, one Elepaq generator, a standing fan, Laptop, Microwave, Gas cylinder and burner, two Ipads, a samsung smart phone and other items.”

The PPRO said the Commissioner of Police, Maiyaki Baba, had ordered that the suspect should be charged to court for prosecution upon the conclusion of investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia.
