A headless corpse of a woman has been found near the Ebrumede police station along the DSC Expressway in Uvwie local government area of Delta.

It was learnt that the residents of Ebrumede, woke up on Monday morning to see a body of a female near the popular Vitafoam office along DSC Expressway .

It was also gathered that the corpse may have been deposited at night by suspected ritualists.

About five electric poles across the scene is the Ebrumede police station.

Sources said that, “the naked body is there lying in the middle of the highway.
There was no blood on the floor to indicate that it may have been a motor accident.”

“A wrapper which had been used to cover the body had been blown away, while a table obstructed the corpse to prevent incoming vehicles from crushing it.

A commercial tricycle rider said, “the body must have been deposited at midnight. Few minutes to 10p.m when I passed this route last night (Sunday), the corpse was not there.”

Recall that a mad man suspected to be a ritualist was burnt to death by a mob for reportedly possessing a human skull and mobile phones at the Otokutu Bridge, along the DSC expressway, in December 2019.

Efforts to get comments of the council chairman, Hon Ramson Onoyake, proved futile as calls put across to his phone line, rang out.

When contacted for comments the State Commissioner of Police C.P Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa said “Honestly I am not aware, am just hearing it, please get to my PPRO.

When also contacted the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Onome Onovwakpoyeya said, “l will get back to you.” But as at the time of filing this report she did not call back nor send text.

Road users who spoke to our correspondent appealed to the relevant authorities to go evacuate the corpse.
