Jos – The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party, LP in Plateau State, Chief Yohana Margif has picked Engr. Jack Bot as his running mate ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The Labour Party is the first political party in the State to have a running mate for its candidate.

It would be recalled that Margif is one of the aggrieved aspirants who left the All Progressives Congress, APC after purchasing the nomination form to contest the governorship seat. He later joined the Labour Party to contest.

Presenting his running mate on Wednesday to the Party members and the public at the Party’s Secretariat in Jos, the gubernatorial candidate assured the people that they would work as a team to ensure good governance if the people trust and vote for them in 2023.

He disclosed that what prompted him to choose his running mate was “his track record which is most acceptable to me having served in my places and he is a like mind in terms of philanthropy.”

Margif stressed that “hatred, selfishness, and greed” are factors that cause friction between a governor and his deputy but in their case, “Our house is built on a solid foundation, we have a lot in common even in humanitarian services, this common world view will help in our relationship.”

Speaking shortly after the brief ceremony, Engr. Bot said, “I am from Barkin Ladi local government area, I have served my community in different capacities, and I have also served in various organizations. I desire to serve with the whole of my heart. I am out for service…”
