Jos – The Legislative Arm of Langtang North Local Government Council of Plateau state has allegedly passed a vote of no confidence on the controversial Council Chairman, Mr. Bitrus Rimven as this medium gathers that about 12 Councilors who are members of the Legislative Arm signed the vote of no confidence letter on the Chairman.

It was further gathered that the Councillors who accused Rimven of some wrongdoing several might soon commence a process to impeach him as sources from the local government area confided that “he has done more damage to the party, the All Progressives Congress than good.”

A Councilor who did not want to be named stated, “He is fanning the embers of crisis and disunity in Langtang North APC. He deliberately undermines political leaders from the Council for personal gains. As I speak to you APC members in Langtang North are not united, I want to use this opportunity to tell His Excellency, Governor Simon Lalong that the Council boss is causing more damage than good to the party in Langtang North. We have to be careful especially as elections get closer, I do not see our Party winning any election in Langtang North now because of the way he has been operating since he came on board.”

It would be recalled that a High Court as well as the Court of Appeal had sacked Rimven and asked that Joshua Laven of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP be allowed to complete his tenure later this year but the State Government has continued to recognize and work with Rimven as the Chairman of the Council.
