Wednesday 31st August was a big day for Chief Oyinkuro Ifie Ereboh, the Bayelsa state chairman of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, RTEAN. It was the celebration of his first year in office as chairman of RTEAN and the 9th anniversary celebration of his marriage to his gorgeous wife, Mrs. Preye Ereboh.

The anniversary was a moment of bonding, winning, dinning, tributes and prayers for the Erebohs by family members, friends, associates and well wishes.

Chief Ereboh received heart-warming well wishes from friends, leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Bayelsa state, the governorship candidate of the NNPP in Bayelsa state and a host of others.

The celebration which opened with a road walk led by Chief Ereboh featured the RTEAN unity and progress cup 2022, novelty football with the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Bayelsa state chapter and tributes.

Chief Ereboh is a lover of soccer and talent spotter. In recognition of his great love for football, SOJA Services Limited sponsored a-5 aside tournament as part of the anniversaries to celebrate this great sports lover who has reorganized the road transport sector in Bayelsa state to the admiration of stakeholders and commuters alike.

The tournament which hosted several teams saw Rich Destiny football club emerge winner. Rich Destiny thrashed Young Boys FC in the final to cart away the grand price of N150,000, while the second place winner went home with N50,000.

Friends, associates stood still for the Erebohs RTEAN football team fielding out for a novelty match with the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Bayelsa state council.

In the novelty match played between the RTEAN team and the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Bayelsa at the Hamilton garden, Azikoro road, Yenegoa, the host team defeated the pen pushers team by 5 goals to 4.

Chief Ereboh’s leadership at RTEAN has made outstanding success in building collaborations with stakeholders in the transportation sector and other associations.

Speaking during the anniversary, Ereboh thanked God for success his leadership has recorded within one year. Some of the achievements standing to the credit of his administration include the enforcement of RTEAN operation outfit, mobilisation and coordination of road transport workers for compulsory sanitation in all motor parks, creation of new units of RTEAN and chapels in the state.

He lauded members of the association for the support given to him and the confidence reposed in his leadership, saying that he will continue to work assiduously to improve the welfare of road transport employers.

In a goodwill message, the Chairman of NUJ, Bayelsa state, Comrade Samuel Numonengi described Ereboh leadership as “fruitful”, wishing him more fruitful years of marriage and higher heights.

Also, the governorship candidate of the NNPP, Mr. Ineye Appah, congratulated Chief Ereboh on his one year in office and his 9th marriage anniversary, saying that he has used his position as chairman of RTEAN to make lasting positive impacts on those around him and the transportation sector in Bayelsa state.
