Announces University scholarship to Essien Udim indigene

The Akwa Akuku Annang, holder of the highest traditional chieftaincy title in Annang land and paramount ruler of Essien Udim local government area, HRM Obong Cosmos Okon Akpan, has conferred the title of Obong Idorenyin Annang on Prince Mendy Archibong.

Mr. Archibong who is the founder of an Akwa Ibom State based NGO, Prince Archibong Life Foundation, PALF, was conferred with the award on Friday 31st December 2021, during the installation of Obong Akpan as the Akwa Akuku Annang.

Archibong was honoured alongside the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Moses Ekpo, among other eminent Nigerians.

The same day, Prince Mendy Archibong was also honoured with an excellence award in recognition of his outstanding achievements in human development by Ukana Akpautong community, Essien Udim local government area.

Earlier last month, the Ukana West clan in Essien Udim local government area also conferred a chieftaincy title of Obong Uwam Ukana West to Prince Mendy Archibong.

Speaking at Ukana Akpautong, Prince Archibong, announced a full University scholarship to an indigene of the community.

He said, “I am honoured by the recognition given to me by Ukana Akpautong. This awards shows that I am loved. I won’t stop doing good things for Ukana West. So, as a token of appreciation, Prince Archibong Life Foundation has offered to sponsor one indigene of Ukana Akpautong through University.”

Archibong said Prince Archibong Life Foundation, PALF, is passionate about education and will continue to invest in the development of Akwa Ibom people through education.

He recalled that PALF had last year sponsored JAMB form and free registration for more an 150 students in the State and has offered grants to support many students, this is in addition to donation of educational materials to public schools in the State.
