The Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service (AKIRS) has called on employers of labour in Akwa Ibom State to file their annual PAYE tax returns for 2023.
AKIRS in a notice signed by the Executive Chairman of the Board, Mr. Okon Okon, said all employers of labour in the State are requested to file their PAYE tax returns not later than 31st January, 2023 in compliance with section 81 (2) of the Personal Income Tax Act 2011 as amended.

The agency states that any employer who fails to comply with the notice shall be liable on conviction to a penalty of N500,000 and N50,000, for corporate organizations and individuals, in that order.
