Obong Akanimo Udofia, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Akwa Ibom State has said that his joint ticket with Mr. Victor Antai for the 2023 election will usher in new phase of development and shared prosperity to the State.
Obong Udofia gave the assurance on Wednesday 7th September at the official unveiling and presentation of Mr. Victor Antai, as his running mate for the 2023 governorship election at the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Mbo local government area.
He said the fortunes of Akwa Ibom people will be enhanced under an APC-led administration in the State in 2023.
‘The fortunes of Akwa Ibom State will be improved and this joint ticket will serve as a union that God has blessed to usher in a new phase of development and shared prosperity for Akwa Ibom State’, he said.
Obong Udofia assured Akwa Ibom people that with Antai’s record as a seasoned administrator, grassroots politician, former member of the state executive council, a lot of experience would be brought to the table in governance, human capital development,and politics.

The billionaire oil mogul said the All Progressives Congress remains the party to beat in the 2023 governorship election in the state, charged members of the party to remain steadfast, loyal and committed to mobilising support for all candidates of the party, assuring them that different interests in the party would be resolved and integrated for the common good of all.
Mr. Victor Antai had served as Executive Chairman of Mbo local government area, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and later Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Akwa Ibom state.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Victor Antai thanked the Paramount Ruler of Mbo-in-council, His Royal Majesty Ogwong Okon Asukwo Abang, for receiving them and giving royal blessing for him to run on the joint ticket with Obong Akan Udofia.
He said his unveiling at the palace of the Paramount Ruler of his hometown was symbolic and rightly intended by the APC to sought and obtain the approval and blessings of his fathers for the race.
Mr. Antai pledged to work with Obong Akanimo Udofia, all elders, stakeholders, members and supporters of the APC to unify the state and create prosperity.
In his words, “A robust prosperity is visiting the state. I accept to be the running mate of my boss, Obong Akanimo Asuquo Udofia. In me you have found a friend and we shall unify and prosper the state together”, Antai said.
Responding, His Royal Majesty Ogwong Abang, sued for true leadership from Obong Udofia and Mr. Antai. He offered royal blessings to the duo.
Obong Akanimo Udofia also consulted and presented Mr. Antai to the Paramount Ruler of Urue Offong Oruko, and Chairman Obio Ifong Isong Oro, HRM Offong Effiong Matthew Unanaowo.
HRM Unanaowo lauded Obong Udofia for choosing his running mate from Oro, assuring them that Oro will stand firm with them.
Meanwhile, Obong Udofia has consulted the Paramount Ruler of Nsit Ibom local government area, HRM Edidem Manasseh Simeon.
