The All Progressives Congress Governorship (APC) Candidate, Obong Akan Udofia, stormed Eket penultimate week for the Eket People’s Union General Meeting held at the Eket Civic Centre, Ikot Ibiok Udofia was received by a mammoth crowd of excited supporters and party faithful who erupted in wild jubilation when he arrived at the venue with his entourage.

Proceedings were halted for some minutes as organisers had a hectic time trying to control the jubilant crowd who were surging to catch a glimpse of the APC Candidate.

The meeting was organized by the Eket People’s Union to discuss developmental issues affecting the people.

Speaking at the event, Akan Udofia used the medium to reiterate his message of hope and shared prosperity for the good people of Akwa Ibom.

In his words, “The youths of Eket be prepared to work for you will be diligently and gainfully employed. We promise that our senior citizens will be well catered for and ensure prompt payment of pensions, gratuities, and other entitlements. Youths and women will have increased participation in my government. Eket is a major oil producing area and I will work hard to restore the glory days of the oil and gas industry to Esit Eket.”

In a related development, the All-Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial candidate, Obong Akan Udofia, also paid a visit to the palace of the paramount ruler of Nsit Ibom, Dr. Manasseh Simeon Akpan (Mmoyo 1, Nsit Ibom), to formally notify the traditional institution of his 2023 gubernatorial bid.

Akan Udofia is an illustrious son of Afaha Offiong in Nsit Ibom LGA of Akwa Ibom State.

The Director General of the campaign organisation, Obong Don Etim described Obong Akan Udofia’s mission as a project that will lead the state out of bondage. In his words, “The journey cannot commence without Obong Akan Udofia coming to seek royal blessings as a son of the soil because charity begins at home”.

Addressing the palace, Akan Udofia emphasized that it is pertinent for him to avail himself of royal blessings from his Royal Majesty. He also acknowledged the efforts of Late Idongesit Nkanga in restructuring the state, which has paved the way for him to embark on his gubernatorial journey.

Udofia prayed to God to keep His Royal Majesty alive to witness better days. He further stated that the village head Obong Wilson Ndem, stands as a Surety of his message, while looking forward to fulfilling them.
