The old student’s association of A.M.E Zion Secondary Commercial School, Ndon Ebom, Uruan local government area has thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel, for carrying out massive infrastructural intervention in their alma mater.

The old student’s association gave the thanks during her 2021 annual general meeting and end-of-year get together held in Uyo.

Chairman of the association, Mr. Okon Okon, said the emergency declared in the education sector by Governor Emmanuel has changed the face of infrastructure in the school and has enhanced the learning environment for both the students and teachers.

“During our last AGM, we were bothered about the perennial security breaches at our school, we had thought of construction of perimeter fence. I am glad to announce to us that through the support of our members who are in Government, the fencing of the school has been awarded.”

“During the year, we were blessed with four science laboratories (biology, Chemistry, Physics and Agricultural Science). The Governor approved the construction of four laboratories and provided a block of two classrooms, that have been completed and commissioned. The Governor also approved the renovation of the assembly hall, work has reached 80 percent completion.”

“A.M.E Zion Secondary School has been a beneficiary of the emergency declared in the Education sector by Governor Udom Emmanuel. We appreciate the Governor because he has done the institution well. We stand proud to say that we have benefited from the government’s intervention in education”, Okon said.

The chairman said during the year, the association facilitated the change of the motto of the school to reflect the philosophy of modern education, and also facilitated the posting of more teachers to the school to boost the manpower supply of the institution.

A.M.E old student thank Governor Emmanuel for intervention in alma mater Executive and some members of A.M.E Zion Secondary School, Ndon Ebom, Uruan Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, during their 2021 AGM/End-of-year get together.

Mr. Okon Okon who is also the chairman of Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue, AKIRS, said the association will support ongoing interventions in the school carried out by the government by providing apparatus for the laboratories.

The AGM which held physically and virtually and was joined by members of the association based outside Nigeria.

It featured the presentation of minutes and financial report for the year ended 2021 and presentation of Christmas package to members by the Chairman of the association.
