Ondo State is our priority – Tinubu

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has met with the council of Obas in Ondo state and canvass support for reelection of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

At the meeting, the traditional rulers said they will support the second term bid of Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, because of his performance.

The royal fathers spoke through the Olugbo of Ugbo who is the Chairman Council of Obas, Oba Fedrick Obateru Akinrutan, at a meeting held at the international culture and event centre, the Dome, in Akure.

The royal fathers said Governor Akeredolu has demonstrated commitment to the well-being of citizens of the State.

Oba Akinrutan who mentioned various infrastructural and industrial projects with laudable policies and programmes initiated by the Akeredolu administration said royal fathers in the State were happy with the current pace of development across sectors in the state.

He added that the Monarchs would not want any truncation of the ongoing projects, hence their resolute commitment to the tenure continuity agenda of Governor Akeredolu.

“The Governor respects us. Recently he abolished ‘Grade D’ to enhance the status of royal fathers in the State. By the action, more than 200 traditional rulers were promoted to ‘ Grade C’. We are happy with Arakunrin, we appreciate him, he said.”

The APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who led top hierarchy of the APC national campaign council to the meeting appreciated the royal fathers for their support for the APC government in the State.

Tinubu said their positive stance in favour of Akeredolu symbolises a better life for the people of the Sunshine State and a commitment to a guaranteed future for the state.

The APC national leader, said the progress of Ondo state is his priority, and the kings have lot of roles in achieving sustainable development during and after the forthcoming election in the state.

He expressed happiness that the royal fathers identify with Governor Akeredolu on projects like the industrial hub and redemption bridge in Ore, youth employment programmes, commitment to conducive school environment, landmark projects like building of the Ondo State Internal Revenue Headquarters known as ‘Revenue House’ and encouraging efficient policies in agricultural and health sector.

“If we did not invest into education, there will a lot of illiterates in the state. The money used to send us to school were money gotten from hard work. We need to invest on our children” he said

Asiwaju Tinubu pleaded with the Obas to convince the people of the State to vote for the APC candidate in the forthcoming governorship election, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

In his remarks, the Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, appreciated the Obas for their support and timely response.

The governor assured that said he would continue to work on everything that will make life worth living for citizens of the state.
