The Supreme Court has dismissed the case of Mr. Aniekan Etim, one of the governorship aspirants of the PDP in Akwa Ibom State who sought to be joined in a pre-election matter ongoing at the Federal High Court in Uyo.

A-5 man panel of Justices of the Supreme Court led by Justice Kekere Ekun, in a judgment on Tuesday 8th November said that the Appeal Court was right in dismissing Etim’s case for lacking in substance.

The Supreme Court ordered the plaintiff to withdraw his appeal.

Mr. Etim had sought to be joined in the pre-election matter filed by Mr. Akan Okon against the governorship candidate of the PDP, Mr. Umo, pending before Justice Agatha Okeke of the Federal High Court, Uyo.

Justice Okeke in dismissing the plaintiff’s case described him as a “meddlesome interloper”.

The judgment of the Supreme Court is said to have cleared the coast for the Federal High Court to give judgment in the pre-election case between Akan Okon and Umo Eno which have been fixed for Friday 11th November.
