The Police in Delta State have recovered a Beretta pistol, three locally made pistols and eight rounds of ammunition from armed robbers arrested on Thursday 1st June.

The suspects were arrested in the early evening hours around Ekpan axis, Uvwie local government area, Delta State.

Police spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, said the police have also arrested members of Vikings confraternity and Patriotic Lords initiative for Justice during a raid of criminal hideouts in Sapele and Oghara.

The operation which was carried out by the police Decoy Squad on Monday 29th May.

Among those during the raid were Christian Mordi, Julius Onoja, Obikoko Damian, Ochuko Ofoye, and Odem Hunt.

A Beretta pistol with breach number A059977 loaded with eight rounds of 9mm live ammunition was recovered during a search of Hunt’s house in Oghara, DSP Edafe said.

Efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the cult groups.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass, has called on parents to keep close watch on their children and sued for cooperation of residents of the state in ongoing effort by the police to curb violent crimes and criminality.
