The Nigeria Police Force have dismissed an Inspector of Police, Ubi Ebri, for the murder of one Mr Onyeka Ibe, around Ugbolu-lllah road, Asaba, Delta State.

The Inspector who was attached to the Area command patrol team was said to have shot and killed Mr Ibe during a stop and search duty on Tuesday 4th April 2023.

It was learnt that Nigeria Police Force, Delta State command has paid condolence visit to the family of the deceased.

Spokesperson of the command, Bright Edafe, said Inspector Ebri was dismissed from the police force after a court marshall held at the police headquarters, Asaba on Wednesday.

The dismissed officer was arraigned at the Magistrate Court, Asaba.

The Court ordered the case file should be sent to Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.

The Command has tasked officers to be professional in their conduct and respect fundamental rights of citizens while carrying out their lawful duties.
