The Delta state police command has confirmed the death of a teenager identified as Tonwei at Okwagbe street, Essi-layout, Warri South local government.
The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Onome Onovwakpoyeya said the boy was killed by persons suspected to be cultists.
It was gathered that the deceased teenager was attacked by a gang numbering about seven.

Residents of the area claimed that he was hacked to death with axes, but police say he was shot.
Multiple sources said that, the incident occurred at about 7pm on Tuesday evening.
Residents of the area alleged that Tonwei was killed because he left a cult group to join another.

When contacted for comments, the State Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the incident.
“It’s true, the boy was shot dead by unknown gunmen suspected to be cultists”.
