Jos – The Plateau State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ on Thursday elected Ayuku Pwaspo of the Plateau Radio Television Corporation, PRTVC as its Chairperson.

She is the first female to occupy the seat in the Union which had been in existence since 1972.

Apart from Ayuku, Mary Domtur of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA emerged as Secretary and Lyop Pam of Radio Nigeria (Highland FM) emerged as the Treasurer.

This is the first time three members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ would occupy three key positions at the same time in the State Council of the NUJ.

The election which was monitored by the Vice President, Zone D of the NUJ, Chris Atsaka was peaceful and other members of the Executive include, Pam Musa of the Correspondents’ Chapel as Vice Chairman, Timothy Tyem as Assistant Secretary, Ezekiel Izang as Financial Secretary and Celestine Attsar are the Auditor.
