Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHED, has signed condition of service for her staff seven years after the company came to existence.

The service agreement was signed in a bid to resolve lingering labour issues between management and staff of PHED.

The National President, Senior Staff Association of Electricity Allied Company, SSAEAC, Chris Okonkwo who spoke to newsmen after the signing, said the development marks the employment of staffs seven years after.

Okonkwo said the staffs of PHED now have right to fight for their welfare and other entitlement just as he urged the staff to be dedicated, efficient and remain focus in discharge of their responsibilities.

The Manager, Corporate Communication of PHED, John Onyi said the signing of condition of service provide the avenue for parties to play by the rule and receive consequences if deviated.

The Dune learnt that among others issues deliberated was the reinstatement of the Rivers state branch chairman of SSAEAC.

The association said his sack in did not follow due process.
