Stakeholders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ibesikpo ward five have sent a SOS to Governor Udom Emmanuel over plans to scuttle the rotation of the vice chairmanship position of Ibesikpo Asutan local government council.

Members of the party in Ibesikpo ward five now ward six, arising from an enlarged meeting held at the ward centre, Aba Ukpo Ibesikpo, appealed to Governor Emmanuel to kindly impress it upon the party to maintain the existing zoning arrangement in the party which ceded the position of vice chairman of Ibesikpo Asutan local government council to Ibesikpo ward five.

In a communique signed by the ward chairman of the party, Mr Emayak Akpan, the stakeholders said that some people were going round dropping the name of His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel, in their bid to scuttle subsisting zoning arrangement of the council’s vice chairmanship position which was collectively zoned to Ibesikpo ward five by the party in Ibesikpo Asutan local government.

The party stakeholders said such name dropping was capable of creating unnecessary tension, division and disharmony in the party and Ibesikpo Asutan local government area, hence an urgent need to forbid those behind such divisive pursuit.

The communique emphasizes that since Asutan ward three which produced the outgoing chairman of the council in the person of Mr Sylvester George, is retaining the position as has been agreed by stakeholders of the party in the local government area, Ibesikpo ward five should not be denied the opportunity and chance to produce the vice chairman for a second term.

Meanwhile, the party in the ward has lauded the Governor on his exemplary leadership in the party and congratulate the newly elected executive of the party in the wards, chapters and the state.
