The statement says the change in date of the congress authorized by the National Working Committee of the party was “necessitated by supervening circumstances.”

The PDP congress coordinating committee says outgoing members of ward and chapter executive committees whose tenure will elapse on April 30, will be delegates for the congress, not the newly elected executive.

The committee says due to the prevailing global health situation, the congress will not welcome people outside the delegates, statutory observers, press and security.
