The two Nigerian policemen who were filmed fighting on the streets of Edo state, South-South Nigeria, have been arrested.

In a video which was earlier published by The Dune, civilians were seen separating the fight between the two policemen.

Police Public Relations Officer, force headquarters, DCP Frank Mba, said in a press release the two policemen seen in the video fighting were identified as CPL Ozimende Aidonojie, with force number F/NO 41112 and PC Salubi Stephen, with force number F/NO 516384.

The two policemen are undergoing internal disciplinary sanctions at the Edo State Police Command Headquarters, according to Mba.

The force image maker described the action of the policemen as “a public show of shame” which he said cannot be condoned by the Nigeria Police Force.
