As Nasarawa state clocks 24 years of creation, Governor Abdullahi Sule has called for a harmonious working relationship between the executive, judiciary and legislative arms of government in order to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

The governor made the call on Wednesday at a one day summit to mark 24 years Anniversary of the state and Nation’s 60th Independence Celebration at the Government House Lafia.

“Democracy can only thrive if key actors in the three arms of government play according to the rules”.

He cautioned all arms of government against infringing into the roles of each other to avoid heating up the polity.

On his part, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe assured that the legislative would continue to support the executive in the discharge of the responsibilities through proper legislations.

He explained that the dividends of democracy can only reach the door steps of the people if the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary work closely irrespective of party affiliation in a bid to boost the fortunes of the state while calling on residents in the state to always give government the needed support to serve them better.

Also speaking, the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Umaru Dikko expressed the readiness of the judiciary to be fair and just to all irrespective of their social status.

It would be recalled that Nasarawa state was created on October 1st 1996 and will become 24 years of creation with this year’s celebration while Nigeria who gained her Independence on October 1st 1960 becomes 60 years.
