The leadership of the Labour Party, LP in Kopmur Ward, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State has countered the purported suspension of its gubernatorial candidate, Yohana Margif from the Party in the Ward, describing the allegation as fake.

In a signed letter by the chairman of the Party in Kopmur Ward, Jacob Dyelshum, Secretary Nguwap Hosea and 28 others and issued to journalists in Jos, they say there has never been a time the party suspended nor expelled the gubernatorial candidate from the Party.

It would be recalled that two people, Yohana Margif and Patrick Dakum are laying claims to the gubernatorial seat of the Party and it had been in the public domain that Margif has been dropped by the Party due to some unresolved issues.

But the Ward leadership of the Party said the alleged expulsion letter to Margif was forged and faked, stressing, “This is to draw the attention of the general public, esteem supporters of Amb. Yohanna Margif, all members of the Labour Party, the entire people of Plateau State, all security agencies to a letter of the complaint laid against Amb. Margif and describing him as a former member of the Labour Party and also a letter of the expulsion of Yohanna Margif from the Labour party dated 9th August 2022 is fake, forged, and fabricated to cause crises in the State.

“There has never been a time we the EXCOs of Margif Kopmur Ward have withdrawn or expelled the membership of Amb. Yohanna Margif from the Labour Party. Therefore, we urge the general public to disregard the various publication made by the State Party Chairman, Mrs. Grace Zamfara because Chief Amb. Yohanna Margif remains an authentic flag bearer in the eye of the law. We are standing by him and we shall continue to stand by him.”

The signatories also complained against Mrs. Zamfara and Sylvanus Diyongs for “lies, forgery, deformation of character, misleading the public and threat,” adding, “Mrs. Grace Zamfara has on our behalf written lots of letters ranging from disqualification and expulsion of Margif from the Labour Party using our names and forged our signatures without our knowledge…”
