Heavily armed men suspected to be kidnappers on Tuesday night, abducted one Daniel Ogoshi, who is said to be the driver of the Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe.
Investigation by our correspondent revealed that the driver was abducted from the residence of one of his friends around 9:30 pm, along Ombi II, Kwandere road Lafia.
However, his phone and car were not taken away by the bandits during the operation.
A family friend of the victim who spoke to our correspondent on the matter, described the incident as unfortunate, noting that he received a call around 9:45 pm last night that Ogoshi had been taken away by the kidnappers.

The family friend said he immediately alerted the police, and they rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, the kidnappers had already fled with the victim.
The Media Officer to the deputy governor, Chris Ehima, confirmed the incident, saying that he was informed about the situation but did not have adequate information on what had transpired.
He expressed shock over the incident and assured that the state government would do everything possible to secure the release of the kidnapped driver.
On his part, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel, while confirming the incident, said officers of the police command were on top of the matter.
He, however, did not provide any further details as to how and when the victim will be rescued.
Our correspondent reports that kidnapping had been prevalent in Nasarawa State, and even top government officials are not exempted from the menace.
It would be recalled that a former deputy governor of the state, Professor Onje Gye-Wado, was recently kidnapped and released only when a ransom of about N4 million was paid to his abductors.
