The Federal Government has
approved a new allowance for corps members under her compulsory one year National Youth Service Corps, NYSC.
The Director-General, of NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim says, Federal Government in line with the new National Minimum Wage, has approved N33,000 new allowance for Corps members. The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, reports on Wednesday.
General Shuaibu, told to Corps members at the NYSC Bauchi State Secretariat during a visit to the State.

A post on NYSC official Facebook page said: “provision had been made for the new allowance in the year 2020 Budget, adding that payment would commence as soon as funds are released by the appropriate authorities.”
The new allowance will replace the N19,800 which the federal government pays currently.
It is however not certain when the federal government will start payment of the new allowance to the corps members.
