A final year (HND) student of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, who was returning from a party with his friends has died in a car accident.
The accident reported to have occurred along in front of African House in Ogwashi-Uku around 9pm on Thursday 20th February, left two other students of the institution with life threatening injuries.
The name of the Delta State Polytechnic student who died in the car accident was given as Monday Odogbor. He was a student in the Department of Accountancy, Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku.
A source claimed that the deceased student was returning home from a party with friends when the accident occurred.
The Dune learnt that Odogbor was preparing to start his final year first semester exam next week.
Odogbor died at the spot, according to first responders at the accident scene.

Sources in the Polytechnic said the deceased drove his friends in a Toyota Camry when the vehicle suddenly rammed onto a palm tree.
“Their car overtook another moving vehicle, lost control, veered off the road and ran onto a palm tree in front of African house. One of them identified as Monday died on spot”, one of the sources said.
Passengers in the vehicle believed to be students of the institution were rushed to hospital for medical treatment.
However, it was not clear at the time of filing this report, the state of the remaining persons involved in the accident.
A management staff of the institution confirmed the development when contacted but pleaded not be quoted.
He said the management of the institution will make an official statement on the incident through the office of the Students’ Affairs.
