Residents of Oyede community in Isoko North local government area of Delta State have decried the poor state of healthcare centre in the community.
The residents described the health center in the community as a death trap.
Speaking to The Dune newspaper, an indigene of the community and a former Councillor, Hon Omuta Ogaga, said the health center which was constructed over 60years ago has become decrepit.

Ogaga said the dilapidated state of the health centre has kept the community far from having access to quality healthcare.

“This health centre which is the only health facility in the community was built for the community over 60years ago. The dilapidated state of the facility has given Oyede community serious concerns.”
Another resident of Oyede community, Stanley Iwaroho, noted that the government and elites in the community have failed to intervene, thus making the facility unusable.

“The bad condition of the health centre in this community has made it impossible for the people to access proper medicare and you know health is wealth. This is worrisome to every indigene of Oyede.”

“We are calling on the State government, Isoko North Local Government Council , DESOPADEC and NDDC to look into the sorry state of the health centre to help relieve our people from the stress of seeking healthcare services far from home”, Iwaroho added.
