I am donating the uniform on behalf of the Governor – Uko Umoh

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, in Akwa Ibom State, has thanked, Mr. Uko Umoh, Special Assistant on Media to Governor Udom Emmanuel, for sponsoring a new year thanksgiving uniform to all member of the Union on behalf of his boss, the Governor.

“I am paying for the uniform for all the members of the NUJ on behalf of my boss, the Governor”, Mr. Umoh told the chairman of the 2022 thanksgiving planning committee, Mr. Abasifreke Effiong, while handing over the donation.

The NUJ in a thank you message contained in a resolution published after its January 2022 Congress held on Friday 14th, lauded Mr. Umoh for the donation.

Earlier, the State Executive Committee, SEC, of the NUJ had applauded the gesture by the Governor’s aide and praised him for his continued support to the Union.

Briefing SEC and Congress, the Chairman of the planning committee of the 2022 new year thanksgiving service of the Union, Mr. Abasifreke Effiong, announced that Mr. Umoh paid for the uniform worn by the more than 600 members of the Union during her just concluded thanksgiving service.

Mr. Effiong announced that the Governor’s aide said the donation was made on behalf of the Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel.

“In the course of planning the new year thanksgiving, we received an overwhelming support for the Special Assistant to the Governor, Mr. Uko Umoh.”

“Uko Umoh said he donated the uniform on behalf of the Governor to make the new year thanksgiving service colourful and urged the NUJ to keep up her support to the industrialisation and completion agenda of Governor Udom Emmanuel”, Effiong said.

It would be recalled that Mr. Umoh who is doing a second as media aide to Governor Emmanuel, donated a contactless hand-washing equipment to the NUJ during the outbreak of COVID-19 in addition to other supports to members of the Union.

The 2022 new year thanksgiving of the NUJ which had as its theme “Guide us O’ God on the path of peace”, took place at Catholic Church, Saint Charles Parish, Ikot Ebre, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area.

The thanksgiving was attended by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Ini Ememobong, the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Nsikan Nkan and his wife, Mrs. Doris Nkan, the Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien and his wife, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Glory Edet, and the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Ini Adiakpan.

It also had member representing Ibesikpo Asutan State constituency, Elder Aniekan Uko, Chairman of Ibesikpo Asutan, Mrs. Akon Michael, a former member of the National Assembly, Obongemem Emmanuel Obot; the former State Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uwem Ita Enang; Mr. Okon Okon, Chairman Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service; Prince Godwin Ntuk Udeh, Chairman, Akwa Ibom Roads and Other Infrastructure Maintenance Agency; the CEO of Eminence oil and Gas; the Chairman of Watbridge Hotels and Suites, Barr. Ekong Sampson; Hon. Eyakeno Etukudoh, former member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly; Obong Ide Owodiong among other dignitaries.
