The Chairman of Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, Hon Muhammad Oyimoga has been impeached for involving in anti-party activities and embezzlement of funds.
Speaker of the Legislative arm of the Council, Hon. Luka Isiah made the disclosure on Monday during a press briefing in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.
The Speaker who was sad about how the impeached chairman governed the council when he held sway, explained that Hon Oyimoga executed projects without approvals, adding that he was in charge of almost all affairs of the Council, refused to delegate duties to other officials hence diverted public funds to his personal account.

He said eight out of 10 councillors in the Council signed the impeachment notice, accusing the impeached chairman of disrupting legislative sitting at Obi while the mase of the legislative Council was confiscated by political thugs identified to be loyalist to the impeached chairman.
Hon. Luka told Journalists that one of their colleagues in the Council was brutalized and admitted at an undisclosed clinic.
Reacting to his alleged impeachment to newsmen Mohammed Oyimoga, said he just heard the news about his impeachment.
The council chairman was suspended by the Local Government party executives last week following an allegation of anti party activities.
