An industrialist, Prince Mendy Archibong, has lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel, the leadership and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State for electing an Obot Akara son, Hon Efremfon Effiong Umoh as the new State PDP Youth Leader.
Prince Archibong gave the commendation in Obot Akara, on Monday, at the reception party organised in honour of Comrade Efremfon Umoh who was among the new state officers of the party sworn-in by the leadership of the party in Uyo.

Speaking at the occasion which held at Nsit Ikpe, country home of Hon Umoh, Prince Archibong felicitated with the new youth leader, describing him as a fearless champion of the youths.
Archibong, who is a member of the PDP Elders’ Forum in Obot Akara ward 1, as the PDP youth leader, said the election of Hon Umoh was a joyous development and morale booster for the youths of Obot Akara.
He said: “I rejoice with my brother, Efremfon Umoh, on his emergence as PDP youth leader in Akwa Ibom State. I am saying many thanks to Governor Udom Emmanuel, the leadership PDP and stakeholders of the party in Obot Akara for his election.”

“Efremfon’s emergence as state youth leader has brought joy to our hearts. We the people of Obot Akwa Ward 1 are confident that he will deliver on his new assignment.
“His position has shown that the PDP recognises Obot Akara and the youths of Obot Akara. The youths will therefore reciprocate that confidence by giving their unalloyed support to the party in all its outings
“I urge new youth leader to tackle the issue of cultism amongst youths of the state. I urge him to be focused, transparent and ensure that he carries the youths of Akwa Ibom along in all his dealings.
“He should see his colleagues as critical stakeholders in the Akwa Ibom project”.
At the reception, an excited Hon Efremfon Effiong Umoh thanked the leader of the party, Mr Udom Emmanuel, for accepting his nomination and election into the office of the state youth leader of the party.

Umoh acknowledged the role and contributions made by the Commissioner for Youths and Sport, Sir Monday Uko and other stakeholders of the party in Obot Akara towards his emergence.
“I must say that my emergence was not because I am too talented or because of the potentials that I have. I must acknowledge the role played by the likes of the Sir Monday Ebong Uko, who is in charge of my local government, I believe he saw something in me and recommended me for this position.”
He said his emergence as the state youth leader of the party will open a new vista in youth mobilisation and political engagements, aimed to maintain and sustain the peace currently enjoyed in the state.

“We have enjoyed peace in Akwa Ibom state under the current administration led by Governor Udom Emmanuel. With my new office, I will engage the youths to continue to see peace and security as the ultimate.”
The youth leader assured youths of PDP of inclusiveness.
Hon Efremfon Effiong has served as councillor Obot Akara ward 1 and publicity secretary of the PDP, Obot Akara chapter. He is a member of the PDP elders forum in Obot Akara ward 1.
