Veteran journalist, Comrade Blessed Ejogharado recently celebrated his 77th birthday, enjoining Christians to look up to God for blessings and longevity.

At a thanksgiving held at Saint Peter’s Anglican Church, Orerokpe, Sapele local government area, Delta state on Sunday, 28th June, Ejogharado said God is the secret of longevity.

“Look up to God for blessings and longevity as has been the secret of my life.”

In his testimony, Ejogharado said he was born on 25th of June, 1943, saying he decided to celebrate his 77th year birthday when he found out that most of his mates were already dead and others were suffering from chronic diseases.

He stated further that he had experienced a lot of fatal accidents which led to lost of his friends and co-passengers but God saved him.

Earlier on in his sermon titled: “Unity in Christ” during the thanksgiving, Bishop Blessing Erifeta, Bishop of Sapele Anglican Diocese said longevity is of the lord.

He said the issue of longevity is between you and the lord to settle. “If you want to live long, go to God for it. The words of our mouth determines the length of our life”.

“We shouldn’t allow the devil to shut our life. Your enjoyment of longevity is based on your faith in God”, he noted.

He advised Christians to control their tongue if they want to live a comfortable life, adding that they should honour their parents and the elderly in the society, and also advised members of the society to key into the celebration of old people for your life to change and enjoy their blessings.

The birthday thanksgiving service of the Veteran Journalist who also doubles as the Elder of Nigeria Union of Journalist, Ughelli Correspondent Chapel was attended by members of the Chapel led by the Chapel Chairman, Rt. Hon. Sunday Apah, Comrade Mathias Ogbagah, Secretary, Comrade George Igbi, Comrade Victor Okpomor, Chairman, NUJ, Warri Correspondents Chapel among others.
