Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnics, SSANIP Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro chapter has called on governing council of the Polytechnic to appoint a registrar from among staff of the institution.

The association made this known to newsmen in a communique signed by its Chairman, Comrade Ighosewe Mike and Secretary, Comrade Inonoje Emmanuel, after its emergency Congress on Wednesday.

The association said there are internal staff qualified for the position of registrar and have passed the attitude test conducted by the governing council.

The association noted that three staff of the polytechnic who took the aptitude test for the position of registrar came out successful.

The senior staff said appointment of a registrar from among the staff of the polytechnic would guarantee industrial safety.

The association condemned recent demonstration by communities in Ozoro demanding the appointment of one of their children as registrar and disassociated itself from the protest.

“SSANIP deeply frowned at the recent mass community protest as regards the issue of the appointment of the Registrar. The Union by this communique disassociates herself completely from the protest.”
