Plateau State Police Command has said efforts are being intensified to rescue the kidnapped father of former Governor of the State, Joshua Dariye.

Pa Dariye was reportedly kidnapped on Thursday at his village in Mushere, Bokkos local government area of the State by yet to be known gunmen.

It would be recalled that kidnappers had sometime before the 2015 general elections abducted the nonagenarian before he was rescued after some days and returned to his home.

The latest abduction has caused reactions across the diverse sections of the State as citizens flayed those behind the old man’s travails, placing curses on them.

Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Gabriel Ubah said although security agents had been deployed to find and rescue the victim, “there is no update yet, once we have an update, it would be made known.”

Joshua Dariye governed the State from 1999 to 2007 and was the Senator representing Plateau Central in the National Assembly until the last election in 2019.
