Mr. Okon Okon, Executive Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service, AKIRS, reviewing parade at the opening of the 2022 training course and camp of Boys’Brigade Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State Chapter on Thursday 4th August.

Mr. Okon Okon, the Executive Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service, AKIRS, on Thursday 4th August, reviewed parades and took the salutes at the official opening of the 2022 training course and camp of the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, Akwa Ibom state chapter.

Mr Okon who is the state patron of the Boys’ Brigade was special guest of honor at the parade held at primary school, Ikot Akpan Ishiet, Onna local government area.

10 divisions and colour parties were on parade for inspection at the opening of the camp.

Reviewing the parade, Mr Okon said the boys were excited, energetic and in high spirit for the training and drills, urging them to make good use of the exercise.

He thanked the leadership of the Boys’ Brigade in the state for the exercise and pledged to support the continued advancement of the Boys’ Brigade in the state.

“I’m delighted to be with the boys at this special event marking the opening of the 2022 training course and camp. I’d like to appreciate the leadership of the Boys’ Brigade, Akwa Ibom state for this singular honour to review the parade.”

“I was very excited when I took the parade review. I could see that the boys are in high spirit. I have been informed that this weeklong training is to prepare the various categories of boys for advancement in the service of the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria.”

“I have no doubt that with the high spirit exhibited by the boys which I noticed during the parade review, they will make good use of this training course. I urge the boys to participate effectively and committedly in all the drills and trainings in the camp.”

“Let me commend the leadership and officials of the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, Akwa Ibom state for their commitment to service.”

“Permit me to assure the boys that we will do everything possible for the Boys’ Brigade to continue to advance forward in all dimensions set to achieve the objectives of the brigade”.

After the parade, Mr. Okon alongside the state president of the Boys’ Brigade, Mr. Godfrey Bartekpe and other officials inspected facilities at the camp holding at community secondary school, Ikot Akpan Ishiet. He thereafter attended a lecture on “Christian development for the seniors”, a class for Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers Basic 4.

Giving update on the course, the State Secretary Organising of the Boys’ Brigade, Mr. Inyang Idiongette said the 2022 state training course and camp opened on Tuesday 2nd August and will feature basic non-commissioned officers’ course 1, 2, 3 and 4, advanced officers course as well as camp for the under 10 boys.
