Nora Dadu’ut

A Professor of French language, Nora Dadu’ut has emerged the Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC for the Plateau South Senatorial bye-election slated for next month.
Professor Dadu’ut during the party’s primary election held in Shendam on Thursday night emerged victorious having gotten 1,936 to defeat three other aspirants who contested with her.
The bye-election is to fill the vacant position left by late Senator Ignatius Longjan who died earlier this year.

The Chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee for Plateau South Senatorial District Rt. Hon. Habu Ajiya while declaring the results said Prof Dadu’ut won with 1,936 votes, Damian Shekarau 16 votes, Prof Doknan Sheni 60 votes and Prof. Emmanuel Garba 61 votes.
The primary election had a total of 2,117 delegates across the six LGAs in the zone and the electoral committee chairman urged the winner to embrace each of the aspirants in order to unite them and win the secondary election slated for October 31, 2020.
Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong had earlier expressed confidence that the APC will retain its seat at the Senate during the forthcoming Plateau South Senatorial bye-election.
Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong shortly after casting his vote at the primary election commended the peaceful and transparent conduct of delegates and party officials describing it as the display of democratic maturity.
He said “We have been preparing for this primary as one united family to ensure that we produce the best candidate that will fly the flag of the APC at the main elections. We are very optimistic of victory as our party remains the dominant party in this Senatorial District with records of performance.”
