Jos – There was tension for some hours around the vicinity of Kugiya market, Bukuru, Jos south local government area of Plateau State as residents scamper for safety following clashes by some unruly youths in the area.
It was gathered that there was a fight on Sunday night which left some casualties among the warring groups, the rampaging youths were poised to continue the disturbance of public peace on Monday morning when security agents arrived, shooting in the air to disperse them.
Traders in the market who had opened for business hurriedly locked their shops to avoid being affected as security cordoned off the area searching for those breaching the peace.

However, businesses outside the cordoned area were ongoing and at the time of this report, normalcy had returned to the area.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Gabriel Uba who reacted to the development said, “There was no death recorded please. It was a misunderstanding among youths where four were injured and have been treated. The area at the moment is calm.”
