NNEWI – A middle aged man was allegedly machete to death by a member of a vigilante group in Anambra state.
The victim, Obinna Ojukwu and the suspect Ebubechukwu Chinonso both from Umudinkwa village in Nnewi North local Government area, are closely related by lineage.
An eye witness said it was an argument that escalated which resulted in Mr. Ojukwu being stabbed in the neck.
Radio Nigeria reports that police spokesperson in Anambra, Mr Haruna Muhammed said detectives visited the scene of the incident and rushed the victim to Akwudo Hospital where he was confirmed dead and the suspect was immediately arrested.
Mr Muhammed said case had been transferred to State Criminal Investigations Department for discreet investigation and prosecution.
