The Deputy Chairman of Akwanga local government council, Mr. Safiyanu Isa has been sworn-in as chairman of the local government area.
Isa was sworn-in on Friday 21st January by Governor Abdullahi Sule, following the death of the council Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Joseph Leweh.

A minute silence was also observed in honour of the late chairman.
It was reported that the inauguration of the Deputy Chairman was in compliance with extant laws guiding local government administration in the state.
