Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo

A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria has emerged as the new Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Plateau State Chapter to take over from Rev. Dr. Soja Bewarang.

Before being elected Plateau State Chairman of CAN Fr. Lubo had served as the State Secretary of the Association and the contest saw him getting 43 votes as against 36 gotten by Rev. Steven Dangana of the CPFN/PFN who contested the seat with him.

Other officials elected in the election conducted by Rev. Israel Akanji who is the Chairman, North Central zone of CAN are Bishop Stanley Fube as Secretary, Senior Apostle Maximian Ewurum of the OAIC, Assistant Secretary and Rev. Laje of TEKAN/ECWA as Treasurer.

Speaking after taking the oath of office, Rev. Fr. Lubo pledge to stand firm for the rights of Christians in the state stressing, “I am praying to God to give me the wisdom and strength to stand for the right of Christians in the State and also to help us as the State Executive of CAN unites all Christians irrespective of our denominations.”
