Bayelsa state police command has paraded suspected murderer of a 25 year old Ms. Kate Ugun, and 12 others arrested for different crimes.
The suspects were paraded at the police command in Yenagoa on Monday, August 1.
Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Asinim Buswat, said it arrested one Joseph Fekala age 27 years a native of Okaka-Epie Yenagoa local government area who stays in a two bedroom apartments in Okaka_Epie Bayelsa in connection to the murder of Ms Ugun.
The victim was murdered and buried inside an apartment located at Okaka-Epie Bayelsa, owned by the suspect, on July 29.
The police said the suspect had confessed that the deceased was a friend to his younger sister and needed a place to stay for about four months. Through his younger sister she came to stay in one of the rooms in Fekala’s apartment.
A security source familiar with the incident narrated how Ms. Ugun was murdered by Fekala.
“Joseph stays more in Port Harcourt, occasionally visits Yenagoa to maintain his apartment.”

“In one of his visits, Kate asked for his account details and sent him N50,000. Asked for the purpose of the money she sent she said he should use it to maintain the apartment or better still since he has been into Forex trading he should trade with the money and pay her interest of 20,000 every month.”
“He disagreed and promised to make a refund. The suspect didn’t refund the money and Kate became angry started shouting and insulted him. In the course of the altercation, he pushed Kate and she fell on the bed and forcefully closed her mouth so that she will not scream.”
“Kate died in the course of that struggle, so he buried her in his room.”
A source, Roselyn Archibong, who lives within the crime scene said the deceased mother came looking for her daughter around 5:30 a.m on the day the suspect was arrested and asked for the whereabouts of her daughter.
“She asked the suspect where her daughter was. He (the suspect) denied seeing her. When the woman looked around the apartment, she saw dead houseflies in the corner of the room, she went there used her hands to dig the ground found her daughter’s body buried.”
“She raised alarm and the police came and took the body to Federal Medical center (FMC) for autopsy”, Archibong narrated.
The Police said it also arrested one Keme Azorobor, 27 years old native of Bomadi local government area, Delta state, along Otiotio road, during a clearance operation on 24th July and found on him a local made pistol loaded with one cartridge.
The suspect confessed that he has been trading on firearms for the past five years.
