The Police in Nasarawa State have arrested one Nasiru Ahmed, 32 years old man, who impersonates a Nigerian Naval Officer.
The suspect was arrested near the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, by police men attached to New Karu Division.
The police in a press release said the suspect was arrested for sending fake credit alert to phones of Point of Sales operators in lieu of cash, on Saturday 24th July.

“Police personnel attached to New Karu Division while on intensive surveillance patrol, arrested one Nasiru Ahmed ‘M’ 32 years of age, an impostor, notorious criminal and serial fraudster.”
“The suspect usually dresses in full military camouflage uniform of the Nigeria Navy then, approaches Point Of Sale (P.O.S) operators at different locations within Karu LGA, Nasarawa State under the guise of conducting transactions and send in fake bank alerts into their mobile phones in lieu of cash.”

“Furthermore, the suspect in most cases intimidate/harass and assault the P.O.S operators whenever they complain about the money given to him not reflecting in their bank accounts.”
Police said two pairs of military camouflage, a pair of military boots, a bulletproof vest, knee shield, and dagger were found in the house of the suspect.
