Suspected killers of the village head of Odu community, Udege, Nasarawa state, paraded by Police on Monday 10th August.

Nasarawa State Police Command has said that killers of Mr Amos Ewa Obere, the late village head of Odu community in Udege Development Area of Nasarawa Local Government Council of the state have been arrested.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Bola Longe made this disclosure on Monday in Lafia while parading the suspected killers of the monarch.
According to the Commissioner of Police, “We have been able to arrest the killers of the village head. We got intelligence report from some of our men who are working hard to keep the state safe from bandits. They also kidnapped the children of one of the traditional rulers and other people that were coming from Benue state.
The Dune had reported how the village head of Odu community was shot and killed before pastors who came to pray for him.
“The criminal elements are members of a very dangerous kidnapping group but with their arrest, I believe that people in that area will have some sort of relief”, he said.
CP Longe fielding questions from journalists on the arrest of the killers of the late village head of Odu community.
CP Bola Longe explained that the Police have made so much achievements in the last few weeks which include tracking down of the kidnappers of chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Nasarawa State..
“On the 4th of August 2020, we got credible intelligence and we pursued the intelligence and we descended on these criminal elements where they were doing what they know how to do best. They were spending the money they got from their victims recklessly when our men arrested them. Their names are; Shagari Ibrahim, Isah Ibrahim, Musa Shakin and Ibrahim Muhammad.

“They kidnapped the CAN Chairman, they kidnapped the wife of the Eggon Youth Leader and they also kidnapped the Chief Registrar of the State High Court.
“We have also arrested killers of the Immigration Officer and his sister at Gudi, we did a lot of investigation on the matter and thank God we are able to arrest them”.
CP Bola Longe explained that a total of 21 suspected armed robbers were arrested, six kidnap suspects were arrested, seven firearms were recovered, 14 live ammunition was also recovered, 14 phones were recovered with one vehicle.

The Commissioner appealed to members of the public to always corporate with the police and give them the needed information that will help them serve the people better.
He used the opportunity to thank the State Governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule, the Police High Command and the Inspector General of Police for their support in ensuring that Nasarawa state is free from all forms of criminal activities.
When our Correspondent spoke with the OC Anti Kidnapping, CSP Anietie Eyoh and OC SARS, SP Cletus Anuforo to ascertain how they were able to track down on the suspected criminals, they explained that the public played a major role in ensuring they succeed in carrying out their duties.
They thanked the Commissioner of Police for his encouragement and support, noting that, he is always there for them whenever they call on him.
It would be recalled that on Friday 31st July 2020 armed men stormed the house of the late village head of Odu Community at about 10pm when he was seated with some Pastors in his house who came to pray with him. They took him away and shot him from behind. He was rushed to Mararaba-Udege General Hospital for treatment where he later died.
