Plateau state government has set up a team to monitor activities of public and private schools in the State to ensure they comply with COVID-19 protocols ahead of the planned resumption of schools.
Commissioner for Secondary Education in Plateau state, Mrs. Elizabeth Wapmuk, in a chat with our correspondent in Jos on Sunday said since it was known that schools would resumed soon, a committee, headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Danladi Atu was set up to draw up modalities for schools resumption.

She said the committee had made recommendations to the Governor, Simon Lalong.
According to her, “When the federal government gave the directive, the State government constituted a committee headed by the Secretary to the State Government. We have submitted our recommendations already and we are waiting for the Governor’s pronouncement.”
Speaking on the readiness schools to comply with COVID-19 protocols to curb the spread of the virus, she added, “On the issue of compliance, already there is a team that will be going out to monitor what is happening, to check the level of compliance not only in private schools but in public schools too.”
The Commissioner tasked all stakeholders in the education sector to collaborate with one another to keep the children safe from the virus.
