Jos – Primary healthcare centres and public primary schools in Plateau state have received 100 hospital beds, face masks and chalk boards donated by the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.

The items were distributed to the respective beneficiaries by the Plateau State Coordinator of the SDGs, Samuel Damla through the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON.

To ensure the items get to the intended destinations, Damla with his management team also took time to monitor their movement to benefiting PHCs and schools in the hinterlands.

Presenting the items to ALGON Chairman and Chairman of Mikang local government, Ezekiel Pabuet through the Chairman of Langtang North local government area, Joshua Laven, Damla said the items were designated for clinics built in 2018

“It is my privilege to present all these equipment to the 17 local government areas of Plateau state and to be specific, to those clinics we constructed in 2018.

“I want to present them to the representative of the Chairman of ALGON, thereafter, we will go to the various local government areas for formal individual presentation to the local government.”

Responding, Laven and his Jos East counterpart, Ibrahim Agwom expressed gratitude at the office of the Senior Special Assistant on SDGs for the donation promised that the equipment would be put to good use as they will add value to healthcare delivery in the state.

Laven said, “we all thank the SDGs; for us in Langtang, they built a befitting centre at Talmut, they had given us drugs already, now they are giving us these beddings, they are stocking up the Talmut healthcare with these modern beddings, this is one of the best we have received in recent times, I can attest to this, we need more of this…”

The benefitting clinics and schools were built by the office of the SDGs in collaboration with Plateau state government.
