Jos – The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Plateau State has suspended three members for anti-party activities ahead of her September 25th State congress.

The State congress of the party was earlier scheduled for September 11.

Spokesperson of the State Caretaker Committee, Emmanuel Go’ar said the three suspended members are from Jos South Local Government area.

Go’ar who spoke with journalists in Jos said, “The suspended members are Mr Vincent Badung, Mr Moses Nyam and Mr Kenneth Dung and they are to face a disciplinary committee on why disciplinarian actions should not be taken against them.”

Speaking about the State congress of the Party slated for this Saturday, he said that the party is set to conduct the exercise.

It would be recalled that the National Working Committee (NWC) of PDP on June 10, 2021 dissolved the State Executive Committee following a series of litigations and Sen. Tunde Ogbeha led Caretaker Committee was constituted.

The state caretaker committee was to oversee the affairs of the state for a period of not more than 90 days with effect from Thursday, June 10.

Go’ar further stated, “We have reached the peak of the assignment that was given to us by NWC of our party. PDP is set for the state congress come Saturday, September 25, 2021.

“We appreciate members of the PDP for their efforts at all levels for the success of this committee.”

The Spokesperson said that the screening of the contestants for the various offices would be conducted on Wednesday September 22 and Thursday September 23.

According to him, “the screening exercise would be conducted transparently, the national secretariat has extended the sale of forms for those willing to contest. The court ordered for fresh state congress, both old and new contestants would be given equal opportunity to contest.”
