There was pandemonium on Sunday May 10, 2020 in Orerokpe, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta state, following the death of a woman said to be an America citizen.
The woman was said to have ‘suddenly slumped and died’. She is suspected to have died of the dreaded Coronavirus disease.
It was gathered reliably that the deceased came to Nigeria since March, 2020 to visit her boy friend and she was lodged in a hotel in Osubi town until she fell sick recently.

The source revealed that when her health condition deteriorated, she was rushed to a private clinic in Osubi but gave up the ghost this morning before her Nigerian boyfriend took her corpse to Orerokpe Police Division.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Onome Onowakpoyeya, while confirming the story, said, “it was the late white lady’s boyfriend that brought the corpse to the Orerokpe Police Station and revealed to the police that she cough for about a week until she died on Sunday morning.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, Onome Onowakpoyeya further stressed that, blood sample of the corpse, the boyfriend and others who might have had contact with the late white lady have been taken to one of the isolation centres in the state for quarantine.

While confirming the story, the Chairman of Okpe Local Government Council, Chief Julius Jessa Scot, said, “There was no tension in Orerokpe town but a corpse of a white lady was brought to the police station by a man but he cannot say now that she died of COVID-19 until the result of the samples are out.
“So to satisfy everyone, we decided to quarantine the boy and take blood sample of the corpse of the white lady for test”, he added.
The identity of the woman could not be independently verified by The Dune as of the time of fielding this report, but multiple sources close to her lover said the woman is an American.
