The suspects paraded by NSCDC

The Nasarawa State Command of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps says it has arrested 35 suspected criminals in the state.
Briefing newsmen on Monday in Lafia, State Commandant of the NSCDC, Dr. Muhammud Gidado-Fari, explained that with combined efforts of the intelligence department and other officers who have been doing their best to keep the state free from bandits, they were able to arrest the hoodlums.
“Twenty-eight of the suspects were arrested for banditry, kidnapping and armed robbery in various locations of the state.

Dr. Fari explained that seven suspected hired killers have also been apprehended for allegedly killing nine persons in the state.
According to him, six persons suspected of allegedly vandalized about 109 railway sleepers and six transformer parts in Tudun Kauri area of Lafia local government of the state were also arrested.

“A five man syndicate, specialized in snatching motorcycles have been arrested, five motorcycles were retrieved from them” he revealed.
He further disclosed that three persons were arrested for stealing handsets. Twenty-seven cellular phones and laserjet printer were recovered from the suspects.
The NSCDC boss said that about eight illegal miners were apprehended, retrieving a generator set, drilling machine, ten shovels and other working equipments.

He stated that all the suspects in custody would be charged to court and prosecuted as soon as the command complete its investigation.
The commandant warned bandits and other criminal elements to either surrender their arms or relocate from the state, adding that the NSCDC will continue to make Nasarawa state unbearable for them to operate.
