Jos – The Nigeria Police Force has presented cheques worth over N22m to families of fallen Police heroes in Plateau State with a charge on the beneficiaries to make good use of the resource.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba who presented the cheque to the families through the State Commissioner of Police, CP Bartholomew Onyeka noted the Force understands the plight of families of the men who died in active service hence the commitment to ensuring that they get what is due to them without further delay.

According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Alfred Alabo the IGP stressed the sacrifices of their breadwinners cannot be quantified with anything.

The statement reads, “The Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, CP Bartholomew Onyeka on behalf of the Inspector General of Police has presented the cheque of Twenty –Two Million, Two Hundred and Forty-Four Thousand, Two Hundred and Seventy-nine-naira, eighty-three kobo (N22,244,279.83) to families of Police Officers who served the nation gallantly before their demise.

“While presenting the cheques to the beneficiaries in his offices at the Police State Headquarters Jos, recently, the Commissioner of Police told the beneficiaries that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, understands the plight of families of his men who died in active service and has shown laudable commitment to ensuring that they get what is due to them without further delay.

“The Police boss who said that the sacrifices of their breadwinners cannot be quantified with anything advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the money to address their felt needs and various challenges.”

Mr. Nankin Njin who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries thanked the Inspector General of Police for valuing the sacrifices of their loved ones.

The beneficiaries are Mercy Monday, Timchang Lanfnap, Barmani Nicodemus, Kelvin Monda Dantala, Moses Christopher, Danladi Dakup Dechi, Morgan Wang, Rita David, Victoria Bitrus Mallo, Stephen Adoh Zachariah, Diret Yohanna, Mulna Babas, Visa Dakwali, Bwefa Miracle Jonathan, Florence Philip Matthew, and Nankin Njin.
